I'm the sucker who has to plan the Relief Society enrichments in our ward, and a sister let me borrow a book full of very interesting ideas for enrichment (a subtle hint that she thinks my activities suck?).
Here are some of my favorite ideas from the book (coming to a Relief Society near you!):
Martyrs to a Cause?: Why There Are Suicide Bombers
My Child the Nerd: Socializing Brilliant Children
Pythons on Parade!: Snakes and Constrictors as Pets
Russian ABCs: Identifying Letters in the Cyrillic Alphabet
Spinsters Unite!: Learning to use a Spinning Wheel
"Squoze" is Not a Word: Dictionaries and Our Evolving Language
Sturm and Drang: 18th Century German Literature
Warp, Woof, and Wool: Setting up a Navajo Loom
Spud Spectacular: Potato Print Gift Wrap and Greeting Cards
Who is Dow Jones and Should I Like Him?: Basic Investing Info
"Do Not Resuscitate": Choosing Hospital Preferences While You're Healthy
Sisters' Slumber Party: A "You Snooze, You Lose" Relief Society Overnighter (winner!!!)
My favorite is suggestion #2 - that would have come in very handy when I was raising my children.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm the sucker coming up with Relief Society Additional Meetings in our ward, and I think I have the next year's worth planned now! Can we please go back to saying Enrichment!! (I like the acronym Julie Andrew has created for my job: Additional Relief Society Educator)
